黃室弄蝶屬

廣泛分佈於東洋界，在中國記錄了21種[3]；台灣5種[2]；香港4種[4]。

小型蝴蝶。翅膀黑褐色，有黃色斑。前翅除有黃色的亞中域斑帶外，中室外緣也有黃色斑，兩者分開；後翅除亞緣斑帶外，中室端也有黃色斑。前翅闊，中室長，上端角鉤狀尖出，Cu₂脈接近中室末端。後翅後緣長於前緣，中室等於翅長1/2，M₂脈不明顯，2A脈比S_c+R₁脈長。觸角等於前翅長1/2，端突鉤狀。雄蝶前翅正面有性標，接近2A脈。[3][2]

雄外生殖器背兜發達，鉤形突與背兜癒合，顎形突不發達，囊形突細長。抱器瓣略呈長方形，抱器端上緣有半圓形凹入，凹下有較長突起，稍彎曲，頂端稍鈍或尖銳。陽莖中等長。[3]

形態類似分類有黃弄蝶屬（Taractrocera）與偶侶弄蝶屬（Oriens）。此屬與前者的區別在於觸角棒部端突鉤狀；與偶侶弄蝶屬區別在於前翅正面亞緣斑帶遠離中室斑。[3]

成蝶飛行快速、活潑。棲息於草原、森林邊緣、溪流附近等生境。愛訪花。[2]幼蟲的寄主皆為單子葉植物，包括[3]：

• 禾本科：簕竹屬、牡竹屬、稻屬、狗尾草屬
• 鳶尾科：鳶尾屬

黃室弄蝶屬是黃弄蝶族裡的一個屬。丫紋弄蝶屬（Ocybadistes）是此屬的姊妹群，隼弄蝶屬（Suniana）是她們倆的共同演化支的姐妹群。更遠的親緣關係仍有待研究。[5][6]
